Hamilton Food Security Programs – Places to Get Food
If you find yourself in need of food, hygiene or household necessities while you are on strike, Hamilton has a series of easily accessible food programs.
All Community Fridges are open to anyone and have no application process. You can access food from the fridges at any time – they are open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All of these sites include a fridge, freezer and pantry (except Strathcona which is only a Pantry).
These free fridge/pantry programs distribute food and household necessities (cleaning supplies, hygiene items, period products). It’s important to note that these fridges are not monitored and there is no guarantee that there will be food when you go.
